‘I don’t care if you’re dead’: Mother of two missing child talks about ‘desperation’ over child’s disappearance

LITTLETON, Maine — A mother of two who disappeared without a trace in May has told the Bangor Daily News that she does not care if her children are dead.

Lora Marie Smith, 45, who was last seen in May, told the newspaper that she was still “struggling” with what to do with her children.

Smith said that she and her husband are trying to stay in touch with their son but are “struck down” by the news that he was killed in the woods.

She told the Daily News she would be “devastated” if her sons were alive, and said that they would need to live with the fact that they were missing.

Smith, who has three daughters, is the mother of five children and is the youngest of the couple.
