An employee at a Florida political organization pleaded guilty to trying to hire a former Trump campaign staffer for a false story about an endangered Florida tiger.
The alleged plot involved hiring an undercover investigator to go undercover and get information about a local tiger, according to the Palm Beach Post.
The employee then used a false email address to obtain a fake birth certificate for the tiger and other information from the undercover investigator, according the Post.
The former staffer was fired after the story was published in October 2017.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, and the undercover investigation was ultimately shut down.
